Of the Bookshelf| Ready to Fall

John Day has more to him than being a modern lumberjack, he has the looks and isn't afraid to use them with the ladies that go to the island for an escape of the chaos of the city. However his life takes a turn as he saves his new neighbour from her stove, whose renting one of his friend's house, and becomes her new guide tour of the island and best friend as both share bad breakups and aren't ready to fall... yet.
What I liked:

  • John Day and Babe are the real couple here, they are the ones saving the day, doing good things for everyone without wanting recognition and they do the same for Diane.
  • Diane's character is really strong, she goes through a bad past but manages to walk through it and don't hold resentment and it sets a good example for everyone that needs to move on from some problems.
  • The island and the way it connects with the other books, it sets an scenery that's really particular and helps you understand more of this story and the next that are to come
What I didn't like:

  • The fallout was a little bit stereotypical and expected, I feel like having the stubbornness from the two of them they could have done something a little bit more interesting.
This is the first book of the series Wingman and it was an amazing way to start it because it has humor, it's entertaining and you fall in love with the characters, for me it's a 4 out of 5.
