Organising your Life| Necesities

Over the past two or three months my main goal has been to be more organised, to find that craved balance, to do what I'm supposed to do, have spare time and go out with friends. Well, turns out you can't have everything in life, but you sure can organise so it seems a little bit less messy and it takes a little bit more shape as you go.
If you find this quite an interesting subject, it means you are almost in the same place as me, so throughout the next weeks I'll be sharing some general things that may work for you or at least give you helpful ideas to what you should do next.
Let's start with an obvious one that we never think about, our necessities, what is that we do? what is that we should be doing? what needs more time? do you have regular appointments or meetings? how many classes do you take? do you have any project you want to take upon? how much time should you really be dedicating to doing certain thing? Ask yourself questions.
This is the point of no return, mostly because you are going to start getting overwhelmed. Knowing what you have to do can stress anyone and if you are planning on working on something or have exams coming up or even planning to spend a few days away, you are going to have a lot to do.
Now to the not so fun part, think about your day and see what you are spending most of your time doing, scrolling through Instagram? sending texts? reading? watching T.V.? If you want any of this to work you are going to have to be completely honest with yourself.
Make a list, see what's using up most of your time, see what you can cut, see what's unnecessary and what you should be adding to your routine, prioritize, be aware of everything that you would want to accomplish. Set yourself goals.
Now it's your time to sketch a routine, a temporary one, one that goes according to your necessities, it has to be drawn by you for you, otherwise it's never going to function. Try it for a few days, do some tweaking, find what works for you.
You've gotta remember that the main reason to be productive is to do everything we ever dreamed and more and in order to do that you have to be realistic with yourself, cut bad habits and keep the good ones.
Mayte.
