Of the Bookshelf| After

Tessa loves a good routine, it's the only thing she has known ever since her father left both her mother and her when she was little, ever since, her mother moulded her to be the perfect girl, with the perfect grades, able to accomplish everything she wants.
Hardin is tough, he's well known for being good looking and not getting too involved with anyone around him, he's hard and rude to the point of cruelty, he's one to keep out of your life if you want to survive.
Everyone warns them, the signs are there, but as they say "Opposites attract each other", the question is whether this will end being a success or a total mess. There's only one way of finding out and that by going all at once, hoping not to drawn.
What I liked:

  • The premise of the book: Complete opposites, many secrets, fast love, it really sounds interesting from every point.
What I didn't like:
  • The back and forth: Can you count how many times they fight and reconcile? I lost count and it showed how immature both parts were.
  • The lack of common sense and self respect from both characters, they almost fall into this routine in which they have to fight if not every day, every other day and they don't learn from them.
  • The intromission from everyone, even the two main characters, it seems like the group of friends, family and the other half had to know everything about the other's life, every detail and even when they seemed to keep little things for themselves, most of it was shared.
  • The ending, or the idea of one, for me it wasn't there, it was the illusion of one, it was a continuation for the next chapter or in this case book.
I read this book twice, at first I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it, it was nice to flip through, but this second time I became annoyed at the characters and the story line, they make relationships seem so much harder than they are, they praise toxic relationships and overall it's a really bad book that started as a really good idea, but went terribly wrong as it got written. For me it's a 1.5 out of 5.
