Assess the Situation

“Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing.”
August Wilson

Let's begin with the obvious. In order to get better, you need to realise where the problem is, is it you? Is it caused by someone else? Do you see an immediate answer to the problem?
Seek your strengths and weaknesses. Start by seeing what you are good at, where you can find opportunities and how they can improve your life. Now, for the weaknesses see where there's space to grow, what challenges you want to overcome and how they can benefit you if you start working on them. Be honest with yourself and see what you are good at and where you may need a little help.
Ask yourself what's important for you. Sometimes it's easy to forget the main goal we have, we get so involved in other things, even in people pleasing that at the end of the day you can't even remember why you are doing this and who is it for.
Set your priorities and see if you are paying attention to them. There are times in which we get caught up in life and suddenly everything is messed up, what we thought matter the most to us is getting pushed back by the things we thought were more important at the time.
And before you finish for today, set a goal, a little one, think of something that you can accomplish in a month and will make you happy. Maybe sending your paperwork on time, maybe having a clean room for a certain amount of days or being in peace with yourself, no more demons.
There so much to get done, so much to go through but for now, let's take one day at the time.
