Of the Bookshelf| Green Tea Latte to Go

Payton James one true wish is to be reach perfection, each day she works towards that goal, writing daily self improvement notes on her agenda while running two of her blogs, trying to master her downward facing dog pose, drinking green tea latte with soy milk and raw honey. During one of those days she meets Brooks, a man filled with fears and different interest, but something is there, pulling them together.
What I liked:
  • The back story, at first it sounds like a frivolous book, but once you start to meet the main character you realise why things are the way they are.
  • The plot, as always it starts as an easy read, but the more you get into it, the more you start to enjoy it, it has a few turns and a good message in those pages.
  • The main character and her capability of working towards her goal without caring what others think, she doesn't allow anyone to step on her and she really works hard to get somewhere, even when she has to deal with mini pigs.
What I didn't like:
  • The lack of Brooks, it just seems like an amazing character, one that deserves a bit more dialogue or even its own book from their point of view, I would have loved what he thought of everything that was going on.
At first I hesitated a lot to finish this book, but I'm glad I did, it wasn't your average Y/A novel, it had a good message, a bit of love, a bit of irreverence and most importantly, a good balance between drama and love.  For me it's a 4 out of 5.
